VISION

Work to foster academic excellence, a strong sense of belonging, and a connected community where every student feels valued, supported, and has the opportunity to thrive. Amy is committed to ensuring the district works to continue to grow our excellent academic reputation, welcoming policies, and a meaningful collaboration between the schools, students, families, and the community at large.
ISSUES I CARE ABOUT
ACADEMICS
Glen Ellyn is a destination community in part because of our schools’ strong reputations. In the past the district was awarded “Exemplary” status in 4 of its 5 schools by the Illinois State Board of Education. I’d like to work to get all 5 schools to reach Exemplary Status!

As I school board member, I will listen to experts in the field on what things are working well and what I as a board member can do to help close our opportunity gap and ensure all students exhibit growth.

I am committed to ensuring strong academics that challenge, engage, and prepare every student for success. Our schools must uphold high standards, provide innovative teaching and ensure equitable access to resources so that all students reach their full potential. By supporting educators, investing in rigorous curriculum, and prioritizing student achievement, we can create a district where students' learning thrives and excellence is the standard.

BELONGING
I believe each and every student deserves to feel safe, valued, and inspired. Students must feel supported, both physically and mentally, to achieve their fullest potential. No child should experience bullying. This is why I am committed to advocating for strong policies to support students feeling safe and welcome at school. Additionally, I support common-sense gun safety measures to protect our schools and ensure our students can focus on learning without fear. Weapons have no place in schools.

COMMUNITY
Strong schools are grown with strong community support. We are blessed in Glen Ellyn to have so many community members supporting our students. By fostering our partnerships with local organizations, law enforcement, businesses, and families, we can provide students with the resources, mentorship, and opportunities they need to succeed.

As a board member, I will work to strengthen our partnerships with our local PTAs, foundations, such as PEP and the D41 Kids Foundation, and community members to enhance our support for our students and schools.
